Spotify is a digital music streaming service that provides access to millions of songs, podcasts  and videos from artists all over the world, like Apple Music and Amazon Music Unlimited.

The application is immediately appealing because you can access content for free by simply singing up using an email address or by connecting with Facebook. If you are not keen on monthly subscription fees for Spotify Premium, it’s easy to get started and there’s no commitment.

You can easily differentiate between Spotify free and Premium in our separate feature but as a quick summary. The free version is ad-supported, much like radio stations. The free version on Spotify can be accessed on PC, laptop and mobile phone, but the full service needs a Spotify Premium subscription.

You can skip only so many songs when listening to a shuffled selection of songs with Spotify’s free service. With Premium, you can skip as many songs as you deem necessary.

Double your bit-rate pleasure:

Spotify Premium adds Extreme quality streaming at 320 kbps, which can make for better, more detailed audio output if you use high-end headphones  or speakers.

Listen offline:

Spotify Premium lets you download up to 10,000 songs so you can listen when you are away from the internet or just want to cut down on your data usage. And you can do this on up to five different devices.

No wait for new releases:

Free users will still set access to singles as soon as they drop but may need to wait a fortnight before listening to a new album in its entirety. UMG is the world’s largest record label and includes artists such as Taylor Swift, Kanye west and Lady Gaga.
